Carleton Biophotonics Research Group

Welcome to LAMPE Lab!

We are a medical physics group specializing in biophotonics, in the Department of Physics at Carleton University. We develop optical imaging techniques that are rapid, label-free and non-invasive for applications in bio-medical diagnostics, and to advance the understanding of fundamental biological mechanisms.

New Postdoc Opportunity

We focus on developing Raman spectroscopy and coherent Raman imaging-based techniques for the following applications:

  • Raman spectroscopy and machine learning for the identification of diseased and irradiated blood.
  • High spatial resolution Raman spectroscopy readout of radiochromic films for radiation dosimetry.
  • Identification of aggressive prostate cancer in patient biopsies using coherent Raman imaging
  • Identification of ionizing radiation-induced biochemical effects in normal and cancerous cells and tissue

In addition, we are super-interested in the translation of these biophotonics techniques to pre-clinical and clinical/diagnostic lab setting.

We are always open to new ideas and looking for exciting new opportunities to collaborate. If you are interested in joining our lab, or find our equipment and techniques useful for your research, please do not hesitate to contact us!
